Alabama beats Kentucky, rewinding live updates

-- Alabama went on a 10-0 run to take a 62-54 lead with under 90 seconds to play.

UK went more than six minutes without a basket but Alabama turnovers and misses kept them from taking advantage. Just a sloppy game on both sides. Hard to watch, really. A long way from last Tuesday at LSU.

-- Alabama 19, Kentucky 16 (7:41): Tide went more than four minutes without points and committed four turnovers in the stretch. A John Petty dunk ended an 8-0 UK run that cut the nine-point lead to 17-16. Tide down to 8-for-16 shooting and missed the last six from 3.

-- Alabama 17, Kentucky 12 (11:31): UK scored the last four points and Alabama’s hot start cooled, relatively. Alabama is 7-for-10 from the field after making the first five. Tide also has five turnovers. Alabama’s been able to get to the rim, something that rarely happened against elite UK teams.

-- Alabama scored the first three points on an Alex Reese 3 from the corner. Brandon Boston went down with an apparent ankle injury with 18:17 left for Kentucky.

-- Injured Alabama forward Jordan Bruner was going through pregame warmups. The Yale grad transfer hurt his meniscus exactly two weeks ago at Kentucky and was supposed to be out a few weeks.
