Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund free live stream (3/6/21): How to watch soccer, time, channel
German soccer powerhouse Bayern Munich will square off against a bitter rival Saturday at a pivotal juncture in its season.
The club, holding onto a slim lead atop the Bundesliga standings, will host Borussia Dortmund at 12:30 p.m. ET March 6 on ABC, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+.
With 52 points, Bayern holds a two-point advantage over the second-place team in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig. A loss to Dortmund would put Bayern’s league lead at risk.
Dortmund ranks fifth with 39 points, well behind the frontrunners, but enters the weekend on four-match winning streak. The club is likely hungry to challenge its rival, too, after losing each of the past four head-to-head contests against Bayern, including a 3-2 decision in November.
Forward Robert Lewandowski remains the elite scoring on Bayern and in the Bundesliga, with 28 goals and six assists this season in 22 league appearances.
For Dortmund, offensive firepower comes in the form of a younger player. Erling Haaland, 20, has netted 17 goals in 18 matches and has drawn attention from some of Europe’s top teams on the transfer market.
Haaland scored against Bayern back in November, perhaps allowing for confidence that he can find success again Saturday. But his late goal in that match this fall didn’t hold great significance toward the final result, because Lewandowski broke a 1-1 tie in the 48th minute and Leroy Sané scored for Bayern in the 80th.
In the end, Haaland’s score in the 83rd minute wasn not enough for Dortmund to pull off an upset.
