Bears' Mitchell Trubisky is benched, Nick Foles is back and Twitter is alive

"Maserati Mitch" has driven the Bears to make a change at quarterback.

Chicago decided to bench starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky just over 10 quarters into his 2020 season during a pretty mediocre performance vs. the porous Falcons defense. Bears coach Matt Nagy had seen enough from his fourth-year quarterback, who at that point was 13 for 22 for 128 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

While there's no telling what Trubisky's long-term future is in Chicago, its current future seems to be former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, who threw an interception on his first drive under center for Chicago.

When the Bears made the trade for Foles this offseason, the notion that he would start seemed inevitable. Trubisky's poor downfield accuracy, coupled with his Jekyll-and-Hyde play in 2020 (and years past) forced Nagy and the coaching staff to go to Foles after trailing 26-10.

Twitter, of course, had its say:
