Cassie Randolph is seeking a temporary restraining order against Colton Underwood, according to a document on file in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The former "Bachelor" couple, who broke up in May amid recriminations, now may have reached a more serious level of discord, but details are sketchy.

According to a public document on file in Family Court, Randolph filed for a restraining order on Friday. A hearing is set for Oct. 6, and the case involves "domestic violence prevention without minor children."

Randolph's attorney is listed as Carla Wirtschafter. She did not return a message from USA TODAY.

It is not clear if Underwood has an attorney. USA TODAY reached out to his representatives for comment.

'It's been an awful few months':Cassie Randolph talks life after split from 'Bachelor' Colton Underwood

Randolph, 25, and Underwood, 28, first met in 2019 on the former NFL star's season of "The Bachelor." Underwood gave the final rose to Randolph but didn't propose to her after Randolph abruptly left the competition over engagement doubts.

Randolph's show exit led to the infamous "fence jump" that will go down in "Bachelor" history, where Underwood actually jumped over a fence for Randolph when she decided to leave production.

Randolph ultimately rejoined the competition the following episode and accepted Underwood's final rose. The couple confirmed they were in a relationship on "After the Final Rose" special in March 2019.

They were a couple for more than a year. In March, just before the release of his memoir, "The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV," Underwood found himself battling COVID-19. He spent two weeks isolated in a third-story room at the home of Randolph and her parents.

Then came the split in May.

"Its been a crazy few months to say the least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting. Sometimes people are just meant to be friends - and that’s okay," Underwood captioned an Instagram picture on May 29. "We both have grown immensely and been through so much together - so this isn’t the end of our story, it’s the start of a whole new chapter for us."

Randolph also shared a break-up post on her Instagram account, writing, "This is one of the hardest things I have had to share… Colton and I have broken up, but have decided to remain a part of each others lives."

The cordial split soon turned more fraught. Randolph said the break-up was painful, made worse by attacks on her on social media.

In July, after a 30-day break from scrolling, Randolph returned to Instagram where she lamented the posters "hating on me for my breakup - please stop."

"It’s been an awful few months for ME trying to go thru it. I’m STILL going thru it," she wrote. "It’s hard enough w/out your know-it-all comments. You literally know nothing so go away."

Meanwhile, Underwood's memoir contains a hint that all was not always well in paradise: One anecdote in his memoir reveals they also briefly broke up in August 2019.
