Over the weekend, a tweet surfaced claiming that former Raiders offensive tackle Bruce Campbell was involved in an altercation in Walmart. The video of the incident went viral, but according to Outkick.com, the former NFL player isn’t the large man in clip getting punched in the face.

It can’t be denied that obvious similarities can be drawn as Campbell is also hulking at 6-foot-6 and 320 pounds. However, the man getting beat up in the video is apparently just another tall dude who has the same body build as the former NFL player. Now that the clip already went viral all over the internet, several news outlets just rode with the report that Campbell was indeed the man getting punched in the store.

Many football fans may not be familiar with Campbell because he only saw limited action in the league during his playing years. He was initially selected by the Raiders with the 106th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Campbell spent two seasons in Oakland before relocating to the Carolina Panthers, where he would stay for another couple of seasons. He eventually landed with the New York Jets in 2014 but was only on the practice squad.

In 2015, the Connecticut native then tried his luck in the Canadian Football League, where he had a one-year stint with the Toronto Argonauts. Campbell proceeded to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2016 before hanging up his cleats by the end of the following season.

After misidentifying Bruce Campbell, troll Twitter accounts would be wise to do some quick research before tagging random personalities in viral videos next time around.
