FSU and Miami trade punts with the backups in.

Tate Rodemaker made his debut, but threw an interception to Miami's Bubba Bolden after completing his first pass.

Running back Don Chaney ran in for his second TD of the game. 45-10 with 14:57 left in the game.

Defensive tackle Marvin Wilson was ejected for targeting. He will miss the first half against Jacksonville State.

FSU drives inside the 10, but a false start forces a third and long, which ends in a James Blackman interception by cornerback Al Blades Jr. in the end zone.

Miami fumbles and FSU recovers. Defensive tackle Cory Durden and linebacker Emmett Rice were around UM running back Jaylan Knighton when the ball came out. It's the first time FSU stopped the UM offense.

FSU opens the half with a 12-play 79-yard drive that ends in a touchdown pass from Blackman to tight end Camren McDonald. McDonald went up to make the catch and then ran to the end zone. Some nice plays by freshman wide receiver Ja'Khi Douglas and running back Jashaun Corbin on the drive.

FSU gets the ball first.

Miami ends the half with a 30-yard field goal to make it 38-3.

Don Chaney with a 2-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 35-3. FSU's defense had a 3rd-and-10, but gave up a 15-yard swing pass to keep the drive alive. 3:37 left in the half.

FSU gets a first down after an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but nothing else. FSU punts again.

Miami quarterback D'Eriq King hits Dee Wiggins for a 40-yard touchdown to put UM up 28-3 with 10:17 left in the half.

FSU gets one play before giving the ball right back. FSU tries a reverse to Jordan Travis but Travis attempts to throw the ball while getting hit and throws it right to Miami's Jaelin Phillips. Hurricanes take over at the FSU 37.

FSU goes three-and-out again, but a muffed punt is recovered by FSU. FSU takes over at the Miami 39.

Miami goes right down the field once again thanks in part to 30 yards in penalties from linebacker Jaleel McRae. Cam'Ron Harris punches it in from the 12-yard line to put Miami up 18 with 12:36 remaining.

FSU goes three-and-out after two negative plays and a false start put FSU into third-and-29. Miami takes over at the UM 43 with 13:35 left in the half.

D'Eriq King was 14-for-19 for 116 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter. James Blackman was 4-for-6 for 26 yards. FSU's defense allowed Miami to convert five of its seven third down attempts and both fourth down attempts after the two failed third down conversions.

UM moves the ball right down the field once again for a 15-play, 79-yard drive. Cam'Ron Harris punches it in from three yards out. 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Ryan Fitzgerald hits a 26-yard field goal to get FSU on the board. James Blackman misses a jump pass third down throw to Keyshawn Helton at the three-yard line that would have been a touchdown. A false start by redshirt senior Baveon Johnson prior to FSU going for it on fourth down cost the Seminoles a shot at a touchdown. 7-3 Miami 5:12 remaining in the first quarter.

FSU's defense gives up multiple third down conversions and a fourth down conversion to start the game and UM quarterback D'Eriq King made the Seminoles pay with a touchdown pass to Brevin Jordan. 7-0 Hurricanes. 9:53 left in the quarter.

Miami will get the ball to start the game.

Cornerback Jarvis Brownlee is dressed and available. Defensive end Josh Kaindoh is dressed out and warming up. Safety Hamsah Nasirildeen made the trip, but is not dressed out.

Florida State and No. 14 Miami renew one of the greatest rivalries in college football tonight.

There is bad weather in the area, and the game time has not yet been adjusted from 7:30 p.m

The Seminoles (0-1, 0-1) are looking to bounce back from their season-opening loss to Georgia Tech, but will have to do it without head coach Mike Norvell, who is quarantining after a positive Covid-19 test.

FSU deputy head coach/tight ends coach Chris Thomsen is taking over interim coach duties in his absence. Thomsen was the head coach at Abiline Christian from 2005-2011.

The Hurricanes (2-0, 1-0) have beaten UAB and Louisville to start the season.

UM is an 11-point favorite over FSU. The Hurricanes have won the last three games in the series after losing seven straight from 2010-2016. They lead the all-time series 34-30.

The Seminoles have won six of the last seven meetings on the road against the Hurricanes.
