Is Davante Adams playing Sunday night? Fantasy injury update for Packers-Saints

Several top wide receivers have already been ruled out for Week 3, and it seems likely that Davante Adams will join them on the sidelines when the Packers play the Saints on Sunday Night Football. Adams is officially listed as "doubtful" after injuring his hamstring last week, but it's possible some Adams owners -- or owners of Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling -- will be looking for updates and waiting to make their last fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decision of the day until the official injury report is published.

Fortunately, we'll be here providing updates below about Adams right up until the active/inactive report is released at around 6:50 p.m. ET on Sunday. For more fantasy news, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Adams (hamstring) missed practice all week, and Packers coach Matt LaFleur admitted on Friday that his star wide receiver is "probably doubtful" for Sunday night's game in New Orleans. All signs point to him sitting out, though the Packers are reportedly holding out hope he can play. Even if he's a surprise active, it's possible he'll just be a decoy.

Fantasy owners shouldn't wait for Adams, especially if they don't already have legit alternatives from the two prime-time games. The bigger question is whether owners of Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling should put them into their lineups regardless of Adams' status or keep them benched out of fear that Adams suits up. Again, at this point, it looks highly unlikely that Adams will give it go, so start Lazard and MVS as WR3s. Both have fairly high ceilings against a good-but-not-great Saints secondary, though both also have fairly low floors.

Aaron Rodgers is on the start-sit bubble this week, but Adams being out isn't enough to completely ruin his value. The Packers have a stable of talented receiving backs and big, play-making wide receivers, so while Rodgers doesn't have as high of a floor or ceiling as most weeks, he can still get the job done if you need him.
