Michael Douglas' kids love to hang out with their parents — and it helps that they get to go on amazing trips when doing so.

The actor, 79, who stars as the titular character in the Apple TV+ series Franklin, appeared on Today on Tuesday, April 16, and spoke with host Savannah Guthrie about how he and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 54, have become empty nesters.

"Catherine and I are blessed with the fact that our kids Dylan and Carys still like to travel with us," Douglas shared. "And so we just finished five weeks in India at Christmastime. And we're always planning next year, what our trips will be and where we'll go."

"It's just a treat," the star responded when asked if it's nice to spend time with his adult kids. "Especially when you're not forcing them. [I] said, 'Catherine, look, they actually want to hang out with us. I said, 'You know, it's good.'"

"But we've got good trips," Douglas joked. "We seduce them with good places to go."

Douglas shares daughter Carys and son Dylan with Catherine Zeta-Jones. He is dad to son Cameron, 45, whom he shares with ex-wife Diandra Luker.

In August, both Douglas and Zeta-Jones posted on Instagram in honor of their son Dylan's 23rd birthday.

"Happy birthday Dylan! May YOUR new year, bring you joy, imagination, and love," the proud dad wrote, signing the post, "Your biggest fan, Dad."

The Mask of Zorro actress commented, "Happy birthday my boy❤️."

In her own tribute, Zeta-Jones shared a photo of her and Dylan when he was an infant. "23 years ago today, my boy @dylan__douglas was born," she wrote.

"He is the gift that keeps on giving, over and over and over and over again. I love you my love♥️."

In December 2022, Zeta-Jones told PEOPLE that her family life has just been getting better and better. "Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive to me, not just as an actor, but just me, you know. I'm extremely blessed to be able to have both of them in my life."
