Three men and a woman — the daughter of an Atlanta-based radio host and comedian — were wounded Sunday night when a gun-wielding assailant opened fire in a busy south Houston intersection.

The suspected road rage shooter took aim at three men following an argument near Holcombe Boulevard and the South Freeway around 10:40 p.m., Houston police said. Gunfire erupted when the men were stopped at a red light.

A woman, who was not involved in the altercation, was struck by at least one stray bullet as she waited for the light to change, police later said. She was identified Monday as the daughter of Rickey Smiley, host of the “Rickey Smiley Show.”

During an episode Monday, Smiley, said his youngest daughter, Aaryn, had been shot in the incident and was hospitalized.

“I’m just so angry right now,” Smiley told his co-hosts. “She was going to Whataburger.”

Police said the woman was taken to the hospital from the scene. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The suspected gunman, who was not identified, sped away from the shooting.

The three men in the car drove themselves to nearby Ben Taub Hospital, where they were expected to survive. Their car was seen parked in the emergency room lane riddled with bullet holes.
