Skid Row Finally Find the Right Frontperson: Lzzy Hale

Nearly 30 years have passed since Skid Row unceremoniously gave Sebastian Bach the ol’ rattlesnake shake, replacing him with a revolving door of unremarkable frontmen. Now the door has finally opened to a singer who could inject some wild youthfulness into the band: Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale. The catch is, the vocalist, known for her powerful voice and onstage attitude, will front the band for four dates only.

Skid Row and Hale announced the news jointly on Instagram on Wednesday. Hale will be filling in for those dates, since the group’s fourth singer since Bach’s departure — Swedish Idol winner Erik Grönwall — quit the band to take care of his health. “Erik has decided that the travel and rigors of the road is not conducive to his overall health and recovery and wants to focus on a lifestyle that is more amenable for his well-being, healing, and family,” Skid Row said.

Grönwall, who beat leukemia a few years back, is immunocompromised, which made touring difficult. “I’m getting stronger and healthier every day but after consulting my doctor I need to allow myself more time to recover, which I can’t do as the lead singer of Skid Row,” he said in a statement. “That’s why I have reached the tough decision to move on.” In their statement, Skid Row’s members added that they will remember the two years (and life) he spent in the group with a live album in the future.

The best news, though, is that Hale is excited for the gig. “I’m stepping in for a few dates as the lead singer of Skid Row!” she wrote on Instagram. “What an honor to call them my friends and a privilege to be sharing the stage with them! Erik, I wish you all the magic on your next adventure.” Then, waiting a beat, she mused, “Now…which leather pants to wear?!!” Trump Goes After Judge’s Daughter in Hush Money Trial Rant Where's Sean Combs?
