Stardew Valley offers a relaxing video game farm experience not seen since the days of Harvest Moon. The game has captured the hearts of millions of players around the world across multiple platforms. Additionally, players have found their own pockets of joy in the vast world of Stardew. The game has since evolved into a massive title capable of supporting co-op farming. Stardew’s growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon with the announcement of an official Board Game adaptation.

The project allegedly took over two years of careful design and development. Finally, loyal fans of the farming sim can now take the Stardew experience straight to their tables. The announcement shed more light regarding the conception of the board game adaptation. Apparently, one co-op session of Stardew Valley triggered the conversation that would eventually turn into the tabletop game.

“In 2018 Eric Barone and Cole Medeiros, introduced online through their mutual friend Matt Griffin, played a co-op game of Stardew Valley and discussed the idea of making a Stardew Valley board game. They didn’t know exactly what it would look like, but they knew Stardew had all the components of a great board game.”

The board game sees 1-4 players working together to grow crops, raise animals, improve farm buildings, and gather resources. Much like the video game, players will be able to befriend all the familiar townspeople of Pelican Town. The game concludes when the entire Valley is restored and Joja Mart is thwarted. The creators estimate each game to run for around 45 minutes. ConcernedApe stressed that the initial run of the board game is meant to test the waters for player demand.

“If there’s more demand for it, then we’ll definitely do more print runs, and maybe slowly expand… we’re kind of just testing the waters for now and see what the response is.”

The USD 55 board game features exciting co-op fun especially for die-hard players of Stardew Valley. The Stardew Valley board game is a fine pit stop on the road to ConcernedApe’s future game releases.
