Texas A&M vs. Vanderbilt updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
The Texas A&M Aggies and the Vanderbilt Commodores will face off at 7:30 p.m. ET Sept. 26 at Kyle Field to kick off their 2020 seasons. While the Aggies were not exactly top dog last year, they did wrap up the year with a winning record of 8-5. Meanwhile, coming off of an uninspired 3-9 last-season record, Vanderbilt has set their aspirations higher this season.
A couple numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: A&M was 19th best in the nation (top 15%) in rushing touchdowns allowed, finishing the 2019 season giving up only 13. Less enviably, Vanderbilt was 10th worst when it came to rushing touchdowns last season, with the squad coming up with only 11 overall. We'll see if A&M's defense can keep Vanderbilt's running backs out of the end zone.
The Aggies have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency. It would take nothing short of a miracle for the Commodores to pull off a victory, but maybe they can at least keep A&M from covering the spread.
