The driver who won Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway is the same driver who won Saturday's race at the same track. The first Saturday-Sunday Cup Series doubleheader in the history of the two-mile oval in Brooklyn, Mich., was swept relatively easily by Kevin Harvick.

Just as predictable as Harvick winning again Sunday was Denny Hamlin being the only driver able to challenge for the victory. The driver of the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota nearly caught Harvick in the closing laps at Michigan but ran out of laps. Now Harvick's six wins this season are the most in the series, one more than Hamlin's five.

Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch finished third and fourth, respectively, to get three Gibbs cars in the top four. Erik Jones, who learned Thursday he will not be returning to JGR next season, finished 27th because of a late-race electrical issue.

Below is more about Harvick's win, plus the complete results from Sunday's race at Michigan.

Harvick's win Sunday gave him the sweep of the weekend Cup Series doubleheader. It also meant the car his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing team brought to Michigan is now 3 for 3 on wins this season.

Harvick drove the same car when he won at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last month. Set up specifically for races on massive ovals like Michigan and Indy, the car might be done for the season, as there are no more similar tracks on the remainder of the NASCAR Cup Series schedule.

"I bet we don't run it any more, to be honest with you," Harvick told media after the race when asked about what's next for such a dominant car. "I think there's so many different styles of race tracks that we're going to as we go forward here. Obviously we're going to a road course next week, then we go to a low downforce track two races in a row at Dover, then a superspeedway car, then you go into short tracks, Darlington with high downforce cars. I know you won't run it at Vegas or Charlotte.

Which is good news for the competition. Harvick led 90 of the 156 laps Sunday, easily the most among all drivers in the field. He earned 53 points to pad what's now a 137-point lead over Hamlin in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings.

"It's hard to tell what the end of the year is going to bring as far as this could be the last win, you might win six more," Harvick said. "You just never know. I think the most important thing is to stay focused on the week-to-week attitude of trying to prepare the best that you can. Win or lose last week, on Monday you have to be preparing for the next week.

"It's ultra-important to have a short-term memory. I think our team does a really good job with that, making sure we're prepared for the next race the best that we can. You take all of that you can out of that on Monday morning, then move on to the next one."

Hamlin, Truex, Busch and Logano sniffed the lead at various points of Sunday's race at Michigan, namely on restarts, but nobody had anything for Harvick.

Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski are the only drivers who did not finish Sunday's race. The Team Penske teammates crashed toward the beginning of Stage 3 while racing for the lead. Keselowski poked the nose of his car below Blaney but lost control and sent them both crashing into the wall.

Below are the complete results from Sunday's Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan.
