WWE Survivor Series features inter-promotional matches up and down the card as Raw’s Asuka faces SmackDown’s Sasha Banks, Bobby Lashley faces Sami Zayn, The New Day takes on The Street Profits and Roman Reigns battles Drew McIntyre.

Survivor Series will also see two traditional five-on-five elimination matches, in the form of men’s and women’s Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown matches.

Last week’s broadcast of SmackDown was up with 1.779 million viewers while SmackDown’s overnight viewership was down with 2.215 million.

Keith Lee’s new theme music isn’t as good as the original but it’s way better than the main roster remix

The “USA” and “FOX ” logos on the back of the Raw and SmackDown t-shirts stood out like a sore thumb but was also very wise product placement.

WWE worked really hard to get “Fireface” over, and Sheamus must be thrilled.

Keith Lee and Otis were booked like the fire-breathing monsters when they came face to face. As good as they made it, the problem is neither Lee or Otis is a fire-breathing monster archetype.

This was a perfect shutout in every member of Team Raw got a pinfall.

The Street Profits def. The New Day

The New Day had awesome Gears of War entrance gear, and even displayed its normally colorful ring gear, but they did not even try to go out of their way to wear a Raw-colored outfit.

The New Day did a great job celebrating while on the offensive.

WWE really tried to portray this as a passing of the torch between The Street Profits and The New Day, but that message was lost in the comedic tone throughout.

WWE called back to Sami Zayn’s vertigo in this match and the “long-term storytelling” tweets exploded.

This was a heel vs. heel match where the less obnoxious heel was a monster who surrounded himself with his associates. It was next to impossible to find a sympathetic figure in this one.

Sasha Banks and Asuka have the best submission sequences in their matches.

These two used every part of the ring and the outside to beat the hell out of one another.

I was shocked that there was no outside interference from Carmella, but the right woman won.

Poor Byron Saxton had to be the “I’m inspired by Lana” guy.

The team harmony among Team SmackDown contrasted violently with that of Team Raw.

WWE called back to the split between Lana and Natalya and it was as random and unexpected as the breakup itself.

Peyton Royce’s suplex on Bayley to the entire field (minus Lana who was in timeout) looked legitimately painful.

Corey Graves: “Right now, the EST means the loneliest...”

Though Lana got a measure of comeuppance in the finish, it felt like nobody won.

This match confirmed The Undertaker’s Final Farewell would rightfully be the main event, as if anybody could follow something that emotional.

Sheamus, The Miz, Jey Uso, all the above, none of the above—there’s no telling who could interfere in this match.

Michael Cole made sure to remind the viewing audience that The Miz was still lurking around with a Money in the Bank briefcase.

The slow start to this match told me these two monsters might be looking to go long.

This match entered second gear as soon as they went outside the ring and used the stair steps.

Nia Jax’s Samoan Drops breaks tables with more ease than Roman Reigns’.

The fact that Sheamus did not show up to fend off Jey Uso despite being booked on this show was terrible storytelling.

This match received a fake “this is awesome” chant, but deserved every bit of it. It was supreme heavyweight wrestling at its best.
