The Senate committees on rules and homeland security will hold a joint hearing on the failures that led to the breach of the Capitol by pro-Trump rioters. Witnesses include: - Acting Chief of Police Robert J. Contee - Former chief of Capitol police Steven Sund - Former Senate sergeant-at-arms Michael C. Stenger - Former House sergeant-at-arms Paul D. Irving Congressional leaders are also considering draft legislation for a bipartisan commission that would investigate the Jan. 6 attack. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called for the commission to be similar to the body that studied the 9/11 attacks for 15 months before issuing a sweeping 585-page report.
